The other day at the gym I went for a new personal best on my deadlift. 275 pounds. My first attempt? Total disaster. My back and legs were doing all the work while my brain was somewhere else entirely. I forgot the one thing that makes a lift possible: bracing. Caleb (who was filming, bless him) caught the whole wobbly mess on camera. On my second attempt I remembered to take that deep belly breath. Filled up with air, created support from the inside out and, just like that… …I nailed it. Personal record unlocked. As I sat there catching my breath, it hit me that having even just a little bit of the right support changes everything. In the gym, it's the air that braces your spine. And yet so many business owners go through their day-to-day without any support at all. They tell themselves they can’t afford support because they think they need to hire someone for 20+ hours a week to feel the difference. But back in the day, when I worked as a VA, my smallest package was just 10 hours a month. And even that tiny bit of help completely changed things for my clients. Suddenly they had room to think. That’s the magic of support: it compounds. Just like one deep breath turned a failed lift into a personal record, a small investment in the right kind of help can create massive momentum in your business. So if you've been waiting until things calm down or revenue hits some magic number before bringing in support, consider this your nudge. You don't need a full time employee, or to invest in automating your entire business. You just need a little breathing room to start. A really good tool that does some of the work for you, an efficient system you can follow so you don't have to re-invent the wheel every time you need to send out a proposal, or even just 5-10 hours of a VA's time. Something that small can start freeing you from the admin grind, and give you back some of that creative energy, or free time to focus, that will help you grow your business. A little bit of support goes a long, long way. So take a deep breath and let someone, or something, else hold some of the weight. xo, P.S. If you're not sure what kind of support makes sense for where you are right now, hit reply and let me know. We can have a quick chat and I'll help uncover what your right next step might be. |
